Lasius emarginatus

Description

This ant species make their nest into wood or dead trees, they are claustral and monogyn (single-queen). They establish colonies consisting of thousands of workers. The workers are 3-4 mm, have red thoraxes, black heads and abdomens. They looking for food both at ground level and on the trees. They climb almost everywhere in search of food, occasionally they creating lanes to their food sources. They often keep aphids on plants, because of their honeydew which is secreted by these insects. This species is aggressive, defends its nest and food sources. In addition to powerful mandibles, workers use acid for defense. The queen is highly resilient, tolerates temporary water or food shortages. Their expected lifespan is generally 5-10 years.

Food: Honey and insects.

Colony size: It takes 6-8 weeks from egg to a mature worker (depending on temperature). They reproduce rapidly, and by the second year, a colony  can grow up to a few hundred workers.

    A királynő élve érkezett meg, úgy hogy volt petéje Sajnos átjött a víz a vattán és eláztatta a petéket így most nincs 1 sem.
    De ezen kívül minden jó
