Description
This species that comes from Asia, lives in wood. Queen’s head is brownish red, has longish body, and her head quite large compared to her body. This characteristic shape of head appears in major caste, but these workers are darker, their heads are quite red. They have strong bite, and they can carve numerous tunnels inside wood. This ant is rare, we do know much about their behaviour, but they are recommended for beginners because they reproduce well in suitable conditions. The workers of the first generation are brave enough, climb well, and find food quickly. They are active during the day, and protect their nest aggressively. This species can be kept in plexi or spongy formicarium.
